Replacement engine plate

With reference to my other post dated 13 December, I attach a photo of the plate attached to my sidevalve engine.
Would it be possible to find out from the number stamped on it when and where it was built within the Morris Motors organisation.

Looks like a production line engine with a brass plate added. That would be the easiest way to make an engine with STD-STD spec. If it was rebuilt it would have the overbore and the crank grind (R) sizes on it. I'd put money on it being brand new at the time it was delivered.

A replacement engine under warranty could be a brand new engine.
