I fitted a Kenlowe fan behind the grill and in front of the rad as I found there wasn't a great deal of room behind it.
Don't think Kenlowe are around anymore but the one I have measures 10 inches diameter, quite a tight squeeze to fit, even had to grind a bit off the bonnet catch!
Does the job ok, doesn't run unless stuck in traffic/idling for a while.

Yes temp sensor fitted in top hose and adjustable controller fitted with override switch fitted under dash with indicator light so I can see when it is on.
Although as it uses quite a bit of current you can see the deflection on ammeter!
Just make it out in my photo.

I have used Revotec fans and controllers in 62 saloon and 66 Traveller see link below for info.

https://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Comex- ... tings.html

you just need to check you use the correct fan for the side of rad it will be fitted.

Blowing - Generally placed in front of the radiator behind the bumper blowing air directly.
Suction - Generally placed behind the radiator, infront of the engine, sucking air away.

hope this helps
