Speedo recalibration

Post by Onne »

I have been tinkering with my MM, and had a look at the speedo. I put in the cable at the back, and turned it with a power drill (slowly mind!) Nothing happened though, so I might have to have it done up by a specialist. Is there anyone who you know and trust? This because I don't want to risk my rare KPH series MM speedo. I only got one you know.

They're pretty simple when you have a look inside. Delicate, but simple (hmm, I know a girl like that 8) ).

Did you try rotating the cable both ways ?
It's unusual that nothing works though.
The needle & odometer operate off different mechanisms inside.

If you remove the speedo from the dash panel & remove the plastic "windows" at the sides, you can have a look inside to see what's going on.

I will have a very careful look then... I'd better get my delicate touch out of the shed.

Well, all I did was flick the mileage up 1 mile, by hand, when I had opened it up. But that can't have been it.

Well, in the end I don't really care why, as long as it does work
