Does anyone use it anyway, just out of interest?

i run a large car forum (www.cruiseirl.com) in ireland with a few buddys. we added a chat room to the site 6 months ago and it never took off

There's a chatroom?
Chat can work, but the non-real time aspect of forums is better for me usually. Allows time to think before replying (not that I ever do), correct typos (not that I ever do), and people can join in the "conversation" when they feel like.
Though I suppose a general off topic banter type chatroom can work well enough
