Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls welcome to SADMOG 8)
Southampton and District Moggy Owners Group

Sadmog is an autonomous group of fellow minor fans who like a beer! Pretty much every Thursday we can be found somewhere around the Southampton Area. Typically in the new Forest. We are not a club, nor do we intend to be - just a like minded bunch who like to meet for a chat!

This thread contains largely contains our plannings and meanderings about where we are going to go for our drinks! At the time of writing this the thread is over 119 pages long so if you intend to read it all though then good luck. For those who are a bit more sane then the best thing to do is to read through the last 3 or so pages to find out where we are meeting and then come and join us for the lowdown and to meet some Minor nuts (and some major ones too! :D )

check www.sadmog.morrisminor.com for the locations of most of our pubs (we try to keep the site up to date but we all have outside lives too!) or email sadmog@gmail.com or PM any of the Regulars on the thread

anyway enjoy! :D

Well, Unfortunatly My days in Brighton are drawing to an end and I'm moving back to Southampton - was wondering if theres any milage in there being a regular meet for board members around the area - since we are now almost rivalling the Brizzy Lot   [/b]

Sounds good to me Dan, I'm based here and now with added car ;-)

looks like there is more than enough local and almost local people to sustain a regular meet.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

note:

we have been meeing once a week at pubs for 2 years now, check this website for a bit about this little group:

www.sadmog.morrisminor.com

this thread is now very long so if you like the idea of joining us you are best off navigating to the end of the thread and reading backwards to find where we will be each week. (if you are new I'm sure you'll get the hang of how the boards work after a short while). look above these posts for the 'goto page 1,2,3...x,y,z' and click the 'z' to get to the last page in the thread and read 'backwards' as it were

Cheers

Rob

Class, I'll try to sort something out when I get down there. Country pub type meet?

Sounds good to me.

Somewhere in the forest might be good and there are a few more owners out that direction that might join us then? Otherwise I'll have a think about pubs on the edges of town.

Hummm I've lived in Southampton long enough to decode the thread title, but perhaps a new one with plain English might catch the eye of those with less of an 'ear' for the accent? ;-) Other wise can fire a few PM to some folks?

Cheers

Well I am a Londoner and the title looked OK to me, but what do I know.
And a new branch has got to be a good thing.

Hi Dan,

Many of the Forest pubs have decent sized car parks for a meet - but it does depend on which day of the week, early to mid week their fine - but late week and weekend even the big ones get filled up.

The Filly Inn (about 1m mile south of Brockenhurst and 3miles before Lymington on the Lymington road) has good sized care park, or if you want a pub nearer Southampton - the Forest Inn in Ashurst (a few miles west ofSouthampton on the Lyndhurst road) is OK.

Which night of the week did people have in mind?

Regards, Mike.

Thursday is OK for me

There are a couple of other guys in Southampton that meet most Thursdays so they would probably go for that too.

Location is not really a problem so we can just pick one and if its no good try another the following week?

Are you going to coordinate this via PM/e-mail Dan?

we might want to approach the Hampshire group, I have not joined yet but thay meet somewhere on the edge of southampton, although not as frequent as once a week I think?

I don't know about the accent in the title. Strikes me you could be missin' 12 - 15 a's in the middle there.

My old uncle could spend most of the morning saying Hampshire just once and not use a single H.

Count me in by the by

Hi Peetee - I live in Sway.

Im actually closer to the Dorset MMOC (they meet in Bournemouth 14 miles ) than the Hampshire MMOC (Lower Upham - 30 miles).

The pub in the centre of this map has a large car park and should be easy to reach/find for all of us:

How many of us could make it this Thursday?

edit: this has snowballed a bit! I was intending for it to be a group of website folk - but if its gonna become a local group then thats even better!
