A "dusting" of snow means a very small amount, so he's saying you're used to getting much more snow than that.

I suppose the matt black absorbs more heat from the sun and so supplements the heater

Are you able to drive your Minors in that kind of snow? Do you use special studded tyres or chains to get more traction?

Yes that's no problem at all. The Minor is great on snow. If you have the right tyres. Next weeken i'm going on the yearly winter meet we have here in Norway.
I can take picures of the tyres,if you want to see them??

So they are just ordinary non-studded tyres with a special deep tread pattern? Do they fit on standard Minor wheels?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking about taking a Minor to Iceland next year and the standard tyres wouldn't be ideal when I want to leave the main ringroad (the last time I did it I was in a rented 4x4).

Yes they are without studd. Thees wheel are 175/80-14. And they fit very well on the original wheel. And are realy good on snow.

I have thought about getting some for the DAF.
135/80x13 is such an easy tyre to get compared to the 145x14!
