Old Ambulance

Post by iandromiskin »

Found this old ambulance in a hedge recently and only now got to go back to take some pictures. The registration (i got scraped to bits getting to it) is XIE 827 which I think refers to Belfast City. Does anyone have any information on the registration, type of ambulance is is/was and what branch of the service it served in ? It has a circular logo on the side, now long faded.

I'm guessing from the shape of the cab door that its a Bedford CF but no knowledge of other history...

Certainly looks like an early Bedford CF with the same bodywork as the fire and rescue one shown on this page perhaps (scroll down)
