Re: Ginger bush
Tetradenia Ginger bush is a native of Africa and doesn't do well in England and requires lots of watering .Tropical indoor gardens have these in Botanical displays and can grow to 12 feet high.Rub some leaves together and that's when you get the lovely ginger smell
Re: Ginger bush
Great news it seems the ginger bush has started growing again. It seems to like the Purple morning glory I planted next to it.

Re: Ginger bush
On a serious note, to avoid flies and other garden parasites, make sure the sticky secretions sometimes found on the Ginger Bush are thoroughly cleaned away with a good proprietary bush cleaner and a light hosing. I find it makes subsequent enjoyment of this wonderful part of creation all the more satisfying.

For the same reason, Mrs. PB has banned me from using my sprinkler in the garden, in case the neighbours report us

Re: Ginger bush
The pungent odour, sometimes emanating from the more common kinds of Ginger Bush, can be eye watering. I believe it is an acquired taste .
Re: Ginger bush
Good news and bad. The good news is the ginger bush obviously likes this warm weather and is sprouting well, so much that I think it needs a trim. The bad news is the Purple morning glory doesn't look too good in fact it looks decidedly droopy and limp perhaps some chemical enhancement may be beneficial.

Re: Ginger bush
Purple Morning Glory sometimes wilts in this weather or if overfed. It can benefit from staking. To make sure the matted root balls are not compacted, a gentle yank can sometimes work wonders

Re: Ginger bush
I'm sure I have read somewhere you can get chemicals to treat this condition but I don't know about dosage or how to apply it
