Ginger bush

I started my thread "Our other hobbies and passions" at almost the same time as this one and when i compared the statistics of both threads i am shocked to find i have been thrashed by a ginger bush.

Thrashing a ginger bush or indeed being thrashed by one will rarely be conducive to excellent florescence and blooming, but each to his / her own. Sometimes, if you can't beat 'em then join 'em!

May be an Issigonis design, but I think a Ginger Bush would be too delicate to give an 1100 a damn good thrashing. Something more robust and woody is being used. Having 'wood' and a suitably mature and adequately moistened Ginger Bush may be a good combination and they may be a good fit. However if thrashing is what you are into, a PINUS RIGIDA may be a better bet!

It seems the ginger bush was killed off by the cooler autumn weather. Unless you know better...

Saw a few whilst on holiday the week before last. All soaking up the sun on the Costa Del Sol. Unfortunately all being jealously guarded by the seafood chefs at nearby beach-bars.

They are still around but need extra care and protection from the autumnal weather. The Ginger Bush likes an Indian Summer and thrives in the open in such conditions. There is no need to cosset or protect in winter beyond the attention normally accorded. They must be protected from frost - a frosty Ginger Bush tends to lose all its moisture and appeal - (forgetting anniversaries of first planting and sowing tends to produce frost). Regular stimulation and moistening will see any Ginger Bush through a cold snap into warmer and more fragrant times.

I thought I'd give an update on the Ginger bush. Taking Firedrakes advice I've given the bush some TLC and it seems to be still growing but with some Grey beginning to show through. I suspect it may suffer some moulting when the cold weather starts. The same cannot be said of the pussy which seems to have made its home behind the Ginger bush. When it was young it seemed to enjoy being stroked and tickled but now it is being very irascible and on trying to stroke it it spat at me. My poor old purple morning glory is looking very sorry for itself and is shrinking and bent in the middle, I don't think it likes the cold weather. Lets hope it will spring into life next spring.

If you don't carefully control rabbits your bush can suffer damage.

I thought I had a wasp nest in the ginger bush but I think I know what the buzzing noise is now.
