Kalashnikov electric car

Post by SteveClem »

Did anyone see this on the BBC news website? They described it as 'retro'.
Looked very much like a Lada I had during the miner's strike ( brick and stone proof). They suggested it was the Russian response to a Tesla.
I reckon they should stick to making guns, although there's far too many of them around too!

Haha. The Tesla is a great looking car. That thing looks terrible! As well as being a bit Lada-like, I thought I could see shades of Mk3 Ford Zephyr from some angles. It looks like something from a cover shot of a 1970s Custom Car magazine.

Still. Good for them for trying I suppose.

Apparently it utilises the bodywork from the IZh 2125 Kombi 'sport-back', a 1980's development of the Moskvitch 427 estate car (remember them...?).

My uncle had one, delivered milk around Ilkeston in it. How much did that car stink! Sour, spilt milk and soviet era glue...
A heavy and thirsty car. Thick steel but full of rust traps. Rotted like a pear.
