Re: Goodbye 'GB'
I am not confused nor am I offended. I merely posted my views.
I personally do not like posts made in 100% bold type.
As to the GB plates, there are many reports around. Here for example is a clip from the RAC:
https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motori ... k-version/
And one from the Daily Mail:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... ckers.html
The official government site says clearly that UK registered vehicles need a UK sticker to be driven abroad

Your contributions are welcome Mike, bold, italic, large font, I don't care. In fact if I had more spare time I'd fiddle about in the settings and set bold type to be the default for all postsjagnut66 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:45 amIt has Les.The question may have been asked before, I can’t remember.
As you say, my choices are my right just as Mary's are hers, I would not ask her to justify them to me any more than I intend to justify my right in a free society to express myself, to her.
I will say that I think she is getting confused, as others have said, it is the use of capital letters which are interpreted as shouting and therefore possibly offensive.
Hopefully this is the end of the matter.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Goodbye 'GB'
As an aside, this could mean that old GB stickers and metal lettering will become extremely collectable....
Best wishes,
Mike.

He's a web admin, they never joke about things like that - just be glad the forums going down so often keeps him busy
Thanks for waiting till I posted about losing mine before posting that !
Edit: Gah! It begins! or rather my end bold/italics got missed from the quote.

Too expensive for me sadly, though I would like one, I'll keep looking.
Best wishes,
Mike.

More in your price range? (though of course with bids, anything could happen).

Re: Goodbye 'GB'
Oh well, the world moves on...
Were they ever really enforced? I used to get the ferry from Newcastle to Stavanger when I was working in Norway and drive to Bergen, Oslo, Sweden and I never had one...
Even once drove through Sweden, Denmark and came back via Esberg. Never got stopped once.
I’ve driven from Canada to the US more than once and don’t have a CA one now...

Re: Goodbye 'GB'
Ever enforced? I have heard of drivers being ticketed for no plate but very rarely. I guess it varies with local policy plus the zeal/malice of the individual cop.

Or if they had or hadn’t got their quota of tickets for that month...
