Oooh - have I missed something here?
You're using Escort hubs - how do these fit to the Morris spindles?
And why Princess calipers? They're big that I remember but wouldn't newer calipers be more up to date and easier to find spares for?
Cheers - loving the build.

Finished the assembly of the Princess 4 pot callipers, learnt a few cool hacks too.

Too assemble you need a piece of 42mm dia waste tube, some super glue and don’t sink the piston down too far.
1 clean the piston cavity, make good and use light oil
2. Add lower seal only, then insert piston about halfway.
3. Then fit the seal into the metal outer seal first, carefully drop down over the piston until just above the seal ring, then get plastic tube a lightly tap down until set.
4. If the seal pops out, and it will glue the seal into the metal ring with superglue, sorted.....

Both sorted and torqued up, awaiting pads and new stainless cables, until then back in a bag and in box.

Yep used old steel escort mk2 hubs, but going escort mk2 rs2000 rally gp4 hubs, they need two shims, keeps all escort bearings which are better. Princess because I’ve had them, they’re period correct , yes they heavy and cost a lot to refurb, Wilwood would have been cheaper in the long run, they do fit, with 2-3mm clearance , glad your enjoying the build.happy to take photo of complete assembly,( hubs and old disc un-drilled) will be for sale soon, if interested.

Some pretty bits awaiting my atlas axle, which is finished sooner than I thought. Will set up with drums and replace with disc setup later.
Discs and callipers, awaiting painted struts, new ally hubs and fitting, back in a box until next needed.

Observation:-
You have only two 3/8" bolts holding the calliper to the swivel yet you have increased the braking efficiently which will put a high shear loading on those two bolts not withstanding the loading on the swivel brake mount.
Are you intending to increase the number of calliper fixing bolts?

Ah - so when you say shims do you really mean collars? - you're adjusting the diameters and not the lateral position?
Got any dimensions - please?
I posted some drawings on the other side some while ago of the stub axles I made up to fit Vitesse hubs when I was an apprentice - could alter these drawings to do a permanent job.

I ran this setup 20 years ago, driving hard with a 1.6 then a 2.0 TC no issues, I not your concerns but once all bolts are high tensile there is no issues. And I will be driving hard this time, eventually I will replace with escort struts which are on my bench atm, but that’s a few more hours away.

Thank you for the reply.
Whilst you may have run this set up with no problems I am not convinced that it is the correct or proper way of mounting the calliper.
When BL fitted disc brakes to the Marina swivel which is similar to the Minor it utilised the four 3/8" holes with a wrap round mount bracket secured with four high tensile bolts. Even with new high tensile bolts you have reduced the holding ability by 50% and at the same time increased the loading on the mount bolts and swivel with the use of more powerful brakes.

Update on the small moulding, anyone interested stop playing with glass fibre! I used a new all in one kit from easy composites, and well it was easy. Clean the product, tape up holes, wax on and off 10 tens, apply release, add two gel coat layers , when tacky mix paste and hardener, slepe on and push into all corners. Allow 24 hours to dry, pull out plug and clean mould.
Items I cast where, steering wheel bezel, door pull bezel, rear number plate light, suspension damper top cap and trafficators blanks.
These will be made in aqua clear resin and carbon weave, other bigger items I might attempt or farm out. Will do some tests when weather is a little warmer.

BTW the grey dino turds are the mold putty, its a mix of very finally chopped fiber, and fiber filler and the mixed in hardner

Going to fab out of some 10mm I have and check tolerances, but I think you’ll agree a vast improvement .

I agree. 8)
I would keep as solid plate and only drill the holes necessary to fit the mount bracket to the swivel.

Mocked up the new revised calliper hanger, only had 6mm plate and some big washers, had to do some slimming work on the leg. Now it all needs drawing up and need to program the mill and do a test run.

Issues yes, bolt clearances, and flex in the 6mm plate, reality will be a 18mm plate machined down to 13mm for the bridge and 18mm for the calliper .
