Went to powdercoaters, nothing my pile of bits next to all the other privateers, clearly they’ve got to the other side of COVID. Might consider setting up my own pc plant, doing only small stuff limited colours and fixed turnaround, say 2 weeks, must be people interested.
So a little miffed got back to a hot hot hot shop 28 outside36 inside, must insulate that roof.

Redid the RSR top, finished with side bits and radius the top handle, I think I works better now. Will braze at the weekend when it’s cooler.
Also redid the calliper bracket, only paper template, ordered plate and m20 spacers to make up. As I’ve got a half empty box awaiting zinc phas I’ll get them done and justify another coating delivery.

Postal order too sort know then back to workshop, have a good day all.

Light weekend really, only machined the M8 x 20 mm dia x 10mm H spacers, even that took me a few hours, can see why they charge £12 each!

Metals arrived for the plates, will start tmr and post final parts, need the stuff from the powder coaters!

Ok I hate it when stuff don’t go right….
Cut plates all good, drilled pilot holes all good, bolted both plates together, mailed, sanded and cut plates all good. Added threaded spacers and bolted tight prior to welding, not good.
Chamfered back of spacers and welded, undid bolts and bosh, snapped……4 hours later one clean and retap hole, the other requires a insert.
As they lessons learnt.

Today was a good day as they say, still got to complete drivers side, but offside built and assembled, photos to show. Bolts positions and lengths to be adjusted, also offset on calliper is way out, need a 5.6mm spacer, mocked up with washers for now….finish other setup, then strip down , leg off to powder coasters and bracket to players….dash and engine bay next….

Some bits back from Alder racing, very please with quality, need to fit and make dash loom tails......

For reference its a copy of a works rally mini fuse box, with my twist, the original had two bolts to space, i cut off the tabs and bolted closer, felt they use less space and works visually better IMHO

Still nothing from the Powder Coaters, so sending the final zinc passivate stuff out and some soda blast while I wait, day off today and back in shop, starting to button up front end and finish the bonnet/electrical bays/dash.

Then its pedal box, seat position and fix....

Been a while, due to COVID lost my job and as such all works stopped or could not pay for. Anyhow got a short term contract so back in the fold. First job pay for plaiting bill and the powder coating bill. First delivery and dry assembly of front suspension, that’s when the bolts you selected are now lost….some images of front legs, my callipers mounts and front hubs.

Very nice but one minor comment. The grease nipples fitted to the eye bolts should be on the underside of the eye as the thick and thin suspension arms will shroud the nipple as fitted so not allowing the grease gun to fit onto it. See photo below.

Minor update, various nuts and bolts turned up, been really busy with the new contract only managed one day this week.
So front suspension dome bolts added, and link pin, bolt bung and new grease nipples drilled and tapped, added new nipple covers too.
Phill hope this meets your exacting standards!

Moggy handbrake , drilled, and all internal parts zinc passiphate. Thumb release made in 20 minutes with a be of left over scrap ally. Bolt to swap out with dome hex nut, all stainless.
New brake cable from speedy cables, moggy front end, ford atlas rear ended, better than a DIY hatch up.
