THE SCOTTISH BRANCH.
thought it was time we got a mention .
a bit about us......

The branch was formed in January 1981
the first meeting was held in november 1981
and we had 35 members
by 1982 this had risen to 56..
our first annual rally was in june ,now with 122 members
by 1983 we had 173.
membership rose to 347 by 1990 this was the peek and has been in decline
we currently stand at 160 members.

as a branch we hold an annual rally every year, we try and move the rally around the country
some parts of the country attracting more numbers of cars than others .
over the past few years we have had visitors from other MMOC branches attending our rally.

out annual rally this year is in the beautiful town of Peebles. more on this later.......

we are a branch with a membership spread over a very large area so we try and encourage members to
start social groups , at this time we only have one active group and this is in AYRSHIRE .
the Ayrshire group meet every month and organise runs ,dinners,and other outings threw out out the year.
any one interested in the scotthish branch please feel free to post up ...

Last years' event at Bridge of Allan was good - not so sure about Peebles...... As ever - depends on the weather on the day.

as for the weather we cant do any thing about that but the same amount of hard work and organising goes in to the rally
and we would like to think people make an effort to come to the annual rally what ever .

if anyone has any suggestions about a venue for a forth coming rally please let us know .

feed back of past venues is also good , give us your feed back good or bad, we can change things but only if we know they are wrong ......

Peebles - well - a few years ago I came down to the event there - in my Traveller -parked in the car park outside the Hay Lodge - and walked across to see what was happening. Not a lot! About 4 cars present - walked about, looked at the 4 cars - not a soul spoke to me - all sitting in a huddle (as usual) - so I got back in my car and went off to explore Peebles!

As for future events - come to Bo'ness Steam Railway!! Nice big hard surface carpark - and we can probably get entrants either a free ride on the steam train - or at least reduced cost ride!!

you must have come down on the wrong weekend as i recall we had 44 cars turn up on the sunday

will pass the offer on to committee for the next rally watch this space

16th may......... Stirling &District car club , Bridge of allan.

20th June ........Railway Preservation Society , Bo'ness.

27th June.........Scottish Roots ,Moffat.

18th July...........A,V,T,M,C Eglinton park Irvine.

25th July...........Crichton hospital Dumfries.

15th August.......Bigger.

19th September...Selkirk.

All club stands require you to book a place at the venue you are attending as space is always limited
if you have booked and find you can't attend please get in touch with the club stand contact and let them know
you are not turning up .

I'll be at most of these - in one car or the other. I should be Guard at Bones on 20th (Fathers' day 'Transport' event). But no reason why MMOC couldn't have their own day at Bones some other week-end. Just avoid the Thomas events !

we are always on the lookout for new places

our rally is normally around the 1st or 2nd weekend in June .

we have no one to run the club stand on the 20th june any takers

NATIONAL RALLY 2010

any one interested in going down to the national rally this year .
i went down to the national last year (09) and had a superb weekend it was a fair trip but
the journey was part of the adventure .


we have 3 scottish branch members showing an interest this time , all LCV s,
2 pickups and a van
any more will be very welcome ........

it is our branch christmas night out this thursday .

Errr. It's February .... Christmas is 10 months away or have I slept too long

yes we scots are a bit forward






no it is always our christmas night out in feb we are all so busy in december so we hold it in feb.
the second monthly meeting of the year works well
we get a good turnout
