So it was decided that the bores were a bit too worn to ignore. I decided to use the low mileage engine Ive had tucked away at the back of the garage for several years!

Before fitting Stevey and I removed the sump and cleaned it out, along with the oil strainer. Also took off the centre main cap and it was in very good order so didnt investigate any further. Sump was refitted along with a new water pump, thermostat and oil pressure switch. The existing clutch assembly was put back on. The engine went in easily and everything was put back together and I used Miller 20/50.

The engine was turned over on the starter for around a minute to get the oil moving. It then fired on the second pull of the starter! Sounds really good, the carb was reset and its going really well. I havent altered any of the timing and it pulls really well.

That should be it all sorted for the long trip to the National in June!

Big thanks to Bert, Stevey and Andrew for all there assistance 8)
