How come you're planning to buy a van if you want a pickup? :-?

Affordability mainly, it would seem I have a better chance of getting a donor van. they come up for sale far more often

In the meantime I'm keeping all the bits (apart from the chassis) till I know what I'll need to replace in a donor vehicle. This is all slow time, I'm giving myself 5 years to achieve this.

After a long search Ive found a cab that suits my project, its in reasonable condition, new floor panels in the cab and bits in the engine bay (Ive not seen before, due to the bottom up corrosion of my original field find.) The owner has thrown in free transportation to my home address, so can't't be bad, can't wait to get started again.
here's the under side of the cab floor.
Image
That's 100% more van isn't it?

I've been missing following the progress, it will be nice when it starts up again. When do you get your new cab?

Here we go again, this time I think I'm re-starting with a fighting chance of making some positive progress. The guy that sold me this delivered it as promised right to my door step. The sale has included loads of parts including the front chassis x member, engine towers the sill rails and plates.

The back is in need of some repair, but is generally very solid.

The cab floor is something of a luxury for me, not used to this at all, there's some surface rust in the new floor panels that'll have to be wire brushed out fairly early on. I've got my work cut out for me here. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in, but with slight trepidation, after my last failing, I'm approaching this with renewed respect.

Congratulations on your new project, David

It looks to be an excellent basis for restoration. I wish you an enjoyable and trouble-free experience.

May I suggest you start a new thread for this project? I count myself among the many who enthusiastically followed your progress with your previous project.

Cheers
Don

As always, the offer of extra brawn (not too sure about brains) is on offer - and (reveal for the forum here) I'm planning on Moving to Sussex in the not too distant

Well, if the offer is genuinely there I could. Just that Brighton has a bit more Appeal than Aldershot I'm afraid!
