Re: Pickup restoration part three
Congratulations and well done. This was a real labour of love and a journey of learning. I think you have gained a lot of followers on this thread and that you are an absolute model for any would be diy restorer.

After the excitement wears off and you realise you have a noisy 1970ish commercial vehicle please let me know if you find a way to make it quieter !!!!

Re: Pickup restoration part three
You look a VERY happy man - and rightly so. Félicitations as they say over here - this is and has been a most amazing thread which I have followed with great interest since I've joined the MMOC. "Well done lad!"! as Wallace would say.
Must look up your very early threads so see the state of your pickup before restauration - or perhaps you could post "before and after" photos.
Many happy miles of motoring to you both.
Michael

Re: Pickup restoration part three
This is excellent news, congratulations. It's a great feeling when a project finally comes to a close.
On a side note, when you walked into the house with the MOT certificate, skipping shouting "YIPEE!", did the dog attack you and your wife and kids say "who are you? Get out of my house!"... "Where's David when we need him?".... ?????

David
THAT DAY has arrived. Many, many congratulations.A phenomenal acheivement !!
You've endeared yourself to the Forum. We shared your ups and downs and you haven't been afraid to hold your hand up ,when things didn't quite go right. There isn't a restorer who hasn't "taken a wrong turning" during their restoration but lots won't admit it.
You've worked very hard and are now fully entitled to wear the "official silly grin " that says I did that myself.
Enjoy and savour every moment you spend driving the vehicle.
Well done, David.

Aaah, David, you beat me and Mog! We're all very proud of you. Of course -- we know you'll still need us -- if only because you've gotten the bug, and you have to have another Minor soon!
The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!

Re: Pickup restoration part three
Thanks for all the support there guy's n Dolls. Ive got a tax disc, simplist and quickest time Ive spent in any government office, if you do go to one of these efficient and well run DVLA offices make sure you ask to sign the pettition about their closure.
Ironically Ive been sick since the MOT, Being unwell enough to prevent me experiencing my first country drive, blast this untimely virus! So before the end of the week I will drive her and take some nice pics of her out on the road
After that I have a few advisories to attend to, nothing too significant at all, missing bolts to (and) master cylinder cover plate, slight play N/S trunion, sump pan dented, oil leak engine.
