Thank you , the kittens were very lucky to have survived the night , the wife done all the hard work and cared for them throughout the first few nights , she done a fantastic job , as always , apparently the person who placed them there ,thought he had drowned them enough.to say my wife went up the wall is understatement , he got the full wrath from her that day rspca was called and delt with his pets for rehomeing

Anyone who does that to a poor defenceless animal doesn't deserve to live amongst humans

I won't dwell on your collision woes except to say that the damage in your pic suggests considerable speed but the location suggests car park, not out on the road.

Glad you've found the time and enthusiasm to do some more work on the Minor. Hope your updates on here will continue again. I've enjoyed following your progress so far

The collision was on the road outside of work, I was putting tools in my toolbox at the time , one of my work colleagues came running in saying my car has been hit, I just laughed and said yeah yeah . This time he was telling the truth
Il be fitting the rear most spring hanger/ chassis leg and repair the rest of the arch and then hopefully fit the passenger door so I can weld in the quarter repair section tomorrow , so I should update with more pics then .

Well today was a write off , but managed to cut out and weld in a new rear leg , I put the welding torch down and the pipe going to the gat bottle splits
so not the best weekend ,

I then cut the new arch and clamped in place , not the best fit but a lot better then the other side . I need to repair the pipe so welding the arch in some other time . I then cut the boot floor out.

I then fitted the passenger door , it kind of fits but I’m far from happy with it . It fits fine at the front but the back looks as tho the door is sitting to low,around 1cm or so ... so my thoughts are , to adjust the door up a bit more( as it needs to come up a tad) fit a spacer on the bottom hinge, if that doesn’t work or doesn’t make much difference , it would indicate that the center of the car on the left hand side may have moved through cutting the sills out , if so il have to doing something drastic to get it back to where it should be

Today has been productive , I actually got somewhere with the moggy . I had a play with the boot area, fitting the. Boot floor was a little head ache as I needed to use a porta power to push the quarter panels out and hold everything in place while welding in the boot shelf frame while continually checking the alignment of the boot lid !

It seems a lot better now the boot floor is welded in , adding strength to the boot area

When I removed the porta power the gaps settled down and are nice and even , I needed to adjust the boot up a tad to get a gap at the bottom (back panel ) then I fitted the left hand arch

I’m now down to the last few repair panels and I’m not to happy with the Quality of the back panel I bought , it’s miles out of shape and the holes are no where near where they should be , so my question is where is the best back panel section I can buy ?

Hello everyone , sadly I am unable to continue with the moggy, due to health issues and stress, I feel I have failed,not only me but my family to restore my grandpas car , iv spent many years on her,but now I struggle to find the strength mentally and physically to continue,a lot of blood sweat and tears have gone into her, so as from today the car is for sale, as is ,with pretty much nearly everything I have for her , I know I won’t get back what I spent on her back.but I’d like to see it go to a home where it will be finished and appreciated, please could any of you guide me as to how much I should sell the car for ? Il add it to the for sale section here , first and then consider to put it on eBay at a later date ,

You have not failed but are handing the reigns of restoration to someone else to complete.
Even though someone else will complete the restoration it will always be your grandpas car.
My only advice as regards value - do not under value - you can always come down in asking price but it is more difficult to go up

I have just done the same with my old Ser3 Landrover and because of various reasons I considered that I would never complete the restoration. It went to a good home with many new parts to complete.

Thank you for your kind words , it’s been a very hard few weeks for me . I promised my grandpa I’d finish her but it was not to be. I’m absolutely gutted.

Just because you are not going to physically finish the car yourself that does not mean that you have broken your promise to your grandpa.
You are ensuring through your efforts that the car will get finished and not go to the scrap yard.
There are many ways of looking at this and you have done well looking through the thread. You have more patience and determination than I have.
Give yourself a pat on the back and be pleased.

Well I understand your position, you've put in many hours of skilful work that has been a pleasure to see, that's not failure but health always comes first. Your grandpa wouldn't like to think his car was causing issues. The work you've done to date would please him and make a great car for someone to finalise, and when this happens maybe you will see the result. Hope you can relax a bit now, knowing your decision is respected.
