Austin 8cwt Van 1971 Now Out And About.

Post by Morris Mike »

Driving the van around town or in the villages I notice people above a certain age identify with the van straight away.
The younger people, especially from Eastern Europe say have no idea the cult following these vans have over here.
"Why is he in this old van,he should get a modern BMW,Mercedes or other Euro box, with a turbo and big bore exhaust" I can hear them saying.

Its nice to be different, and drive around in something you do not see very often, there are no other vans like this around here,in fact you never see a classic vehicle on the road being used for their real purpose. They seem to only come out when a show is taking place.
Then again you never see them on the road when you are going to an event, they seem to just appear at a venue,as if by an alien form. Then depart to the fourth dimension at the end of the day.
We have driven perhaps 80-100 miles back from a large event and not seen one classic vehicle,do they all live in the other direction, perhaps we ought to move there instead.
