Hey folks most of you will know that in March last year my father passed away at the age of 64 if that wasn't bad enough ,y dear mother also passed away about 8 weeks later at the age of 61! They loved there Morris traveler Molly but after mum died it sat on the drive in touched my brother bought it out of the family and started to get her back on to the road but due to him moving I have decided to buy it, she needs work but my brother had a new door post put in inner wing and floor pans all round,
I need to get a crossmember for her and another inner wing patched up then it's making it look half decent
The car was never a show winner as it was used daily so I want to keep it that way for now but after a year and a bit sat in the drive put fuel down its neck got the fuel pump working as it was sticking with sitting and boom away she went I fell in love again the smell the age and the looks of her .
So with your help I need to see this car on the road again wether it's in 5 months or 5 years she will live again,
Many thanks and I will post pics up of ho she looks now soon as I take som

Re: 1969 morris traveller........ A long year it has been
Hey folks bit of an update on Molly, I striped the car back inside to find patch after patch of repairs done from years ago so rather than patch I set about replacing the whole floor of the car front to back, now when I say me I mean mine friend I am not handy with a welder and I do want it to stay together... So my mate is the welder man funny as his name is Michael too... Anyway we set about seeing what she needed here's the list
New drivers door post
New upper under sill
New box section
New drivers front and rear floor pans
New passenger door post
New upper under sill
New box section
New front and rear floor pans
List goes on...
Things to do are crossmember
Both side front and rear spring hangers
And I think rear arches.
I use EMS morris spares parts are great and super fast postage too I live in the highlands of Scotland about 20 miles from johnOGroats they have been very helpful in parts and prices are good too!
Car is looking a little sad all over but should be good to go once the floor is done

Re: 1969 morris traveller........ A long year it has been
Hey guys sorry for not updating, been busy with other projects and life in general,
Car is in a sad way and after taking the passenger wing off to tackle that side.. Well let's just say it's needing a complete inner wing and some,
The car is coming back my garage for the winter months so will get on with the wood and inside of the car.
Il get some photos uploaded tomorrow but I hate to look at them myself lol
Cheers guys

Watch out for the new panels Mikey as some don't fit very well as with the new window and door rubbers

Re: 1969 morris traveller........ A long year it has been
So firstly sorry for no keeping this post up to date....
Anyway with been on a tight budget and time scale I have not been doing much on Molly
But that is to change...
Over the last few months Molly has been getting a little better bit by bit
She has had a complete new passenger side front end inner wing arch and engine mount and plate.. Also new door post and wing support,
Now it's time to tackle that gross member
I will post photos separate as I am unsure how to post them all at once...[frame][/frame]

Re: 1969 morris traveller........ A long year it has been
So with the inner wing sorted I moved on to the wood while waiting for more panels to come home from esm...
The wood isn't that bad at all it has places that really need replacing but for now I can try preserve the wood that's good!
One side is nearly done now it has taking me ages to do by hand and the a scraper but I am happy with the result
What you guys think...[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Looks very good Usually goes where the waist rail meets the rear post and where the rear post meets the roof, in my case anyway

Yes the driver side has some rot I believe but for now I shall treat it and hope to buy some wood in the new year....panky wrote:Looks very good Usually goes where the waist rail meets the rear post and where the rear post meets the roof, in my case anyway
I have found a whole at the bottom of the window on the drivers side so I have managed to get another shell given for free that I cut up to get the part I need as I can not find a repair panel...
We are slowly getting there
