Spectacular job, Well done. I wish I had half your skills , driver patience and determination. It shows that virtually no Minor is beyond rescue!

Thanks!
It's not perfect up close but she's solid and useable, interior has turned out well too.

I've a few more bolts in the boot to fit and the rear lights need connecting back up, waxoyl the inner sills and rear chassis where the trouble started from! Stainless sections back on and start driving it again :)

When I get time I'll sort the pictures out into a few posts to cover a lot of the lost photo bucket ones.

Been sorting out some niggles, windscreen still leaking even after loads of silicone sealant, New electronic dizzy fitted but possibly (hopefully) causing a pinking but I've got a nasty feeling my engine is dying as I think I heard it before swapping it.

After fitting a new top trunnion and polybushes I think the knocking I've been tracking down is the lever arm shock absorber but I'm still not 100%.

I've put a gallon of waxoyl in the chassis rails at the back and the inner sills and refitted all the stainless kick plates, I've put some foam strip on the door bottoms where the stupid strips with the metal clips go.

Just a few interior bits to finish before a good body tidy up but that might be on hold if the engine is about to die!

After all you have done and been through a bit of an engine rebuild is nothing!

Where are you putting the silicone sealant on the windscreen? Putting it just on the bottom is not enough. The wind will blow it up the screen and under the seal and works is way down and out on the inside.

I'm going to take it out, fit a new rubber and seal in and out I think!

Today's problem, brand new clutch pedal snapped!

Oh blimey how stupid and annoying. Hate it when new parts fail. Atleast it should all come apart easily.

I couldn't weld it in situ although I tried, by the time I'd got it out I decided to weld it myself as a replacement would be the same so I'd weld that anyway now I've seen this one, I'm going to contact the supplier and get a refund though along with letting them know as these are not fit for purpose, thankfully it started near home and i thought maybe the spring had snapped it finally came apart in my hands whilst I was underneath, took me four hours to fix, what a task!

I think the engine noise is the distributor shaft drive after using some wood as a listening stick, could be the cam or just the shaft, can it be extracted without taking the cam out?

Quality of that pedal makes me glad I turned up a new shaft and welded it .

Personally I don't think its scrapping mots which is the risk to safety, the quality of parts is a far bigger issue.

Yes I agree, if that had gone ten minutes earlier it would have been a recovery truck journey home for a new part on a sixty year old car which is crazy!

At least its good now, my old ones were really bad but still didn't break.

Sorted my clunking, loose lever arm bolts and the steering rack needed a nip up too, fingers crossed I think I've got it and at no cost!

Drained and cleaned the front dampers before filling with fresh oil, I suspect what came out was older than me.

Sealed the front screen inside and out all the way around before putting the plastichrome strip back in so we'll see if that leaks.......
