Rocker gear

Quick question, will the rocker gear off a 948 head go onto a 1098 head. At long last going to put the 12G202 head (after skimming) onto our 948 but I only have the bare head, no rocker gear. Also what about manifolds?

Yes - same rocker gear. Just make sure the pillar with the oil feed up to the shaft matches up ok with the oil feed hole in the head. The old 948 'two piece' manifold is horrible - it will run of course, but far better to get a later 1098 - better still get an alloy inlet manifold from an MG Metro (proly need to make simple adapter plate if using original carb) and use with the cut off section of exhaust manifold. Then look for a 38 HIF carb - this will be ideal for your engine.
