Spridget engine marina box?

Post by Matt »

Im looking at engine options again, what would i need to do to fit a 1275 spridget engine to the marina gearbox? Is it as simple as bolting on the marina backplate and flywheel?

I doubt this very much, but would a minor/spridet engine and g/box attach straight to the marina propshaft that I have on my car?

the marina backplate won't fit on 1275 engine also the flywheel won't fit and the also prop won't the gearbox is triumph pattern type, its probably not impossible to do but a lot of work modifying ,dont give up on the ford type 9 better option glyn

Marina used 1275 engine - so backplate must fit. Flywheel may have different bolt arrangement - but not insurmountable.

If you used a minor box then a minor prop wld fit. Tho i went through a couple minor boxes with my Ital engine so prob not the best idea!
However,i removed the Ital back plate and flywheel and fitted the Midget parts. The only Mod was i fitted a shim between the crank and flywheel as the flywheel just scuffed the back plate.
I dont mean to sound like the snotty new boy and i mean no offence.
I do agree with the type 9 tho!
