cutting out

Hiya every so often when i get to a junction my engine dies ( and no not stalling it lol) any ideas why this could be ???

Theres a good chance its petrol pump related, does it tick very quickly when it stops?

it ticks over fine most of the time i could be driving for a while then when i press the clutch at a junction it cuts out. But will start straight away first turn of the key

Idle speed too low - raise it slightly (especially in winter) - also could be clutch going down too far and loading up the engine thrusts unnecessarily, and of course - increased drag from generator with lights/heater/wipers etc all in use. Also not helped by generally cold engine - fit a winter stat (88 C) to help keep it warm - and give a decent heater output!

Check the piston in the carb rises and then drops freely and is not sticking- Mine did this and it was the cause of cutting out at junctions when the clutch was pressed. :D
