Well yes, in the past I might have done the same thing my self thinking....it will just be a few seconds before I get oil pressure up like when you give the car an oil and filter change....., I do tend to make assumptions about things which in this case would have been time and money wasted, thanks.

I changed the oil + filter on my traffy blue yesterday. And always fill the filter bowl first with oil, while sump is draining/dripping. Oil pressure light only stayed on for about 2/3 seconds.

In my post above I mentioned that I had come across 'A' series engines with removable oil pressure release valve seats.
The part number of the replaceable seat is Pt No: 2A797 and was available from Mini Spares but now out of stock.
Unfortunately I cannot get the link to the part on the Mini Spares web site to work but is still showing on their site
Mini Spares also refer to later Mini Blocks fitted with liners from new.
Memory not so bad after all.
