clutch slip

Post by martin418 »

i have just refitted my 803cc gearbox with 948cc internals and it works fine however i have now got bad clutch slip in 3rd and top gear , i checked the clutch and it was quite new , adjustment is spot on , i know 948 ratios are putting a different load on the clutch than before but 4th gear is the same , all release components are the same as before , i suspect it's a case of bad luck and to be fair the clutch did look like it was a budget unit ,

Not sure of your problem, but you can get a 948 clutch cover with 9 pressure springs rather then 6. I think they were used on mg's
