Front wheel bearing tightness..
Hi all, how tight do you all tighten up your front wheel bearings, standard bearings not tapper ones.. i cant see any info in the haynes manual..

35 - 40 lb ft (4.8 - 5.5 kg. m).

See also thread at the top of this section titled - 'Thread Sizes'.
Tighten the nut to 35 lb ft and continue turning the nut just sufficiently to allow the split pin to pass between the castellation of the nut and through the stub axle.
Do not undo the nut to allow the split pin to be fitted.

cheers Phil.. all done, i had to go a touch over 40ib to get a split pin in, like you said i didnt want to go backwards to get the split pin in so went slightly forward.. theres no play now as i there was but i thought it was to loose when i looked at it, sounds like you have a good workshop manual there..

If you do a search for 'morris minor workshop manual download' in your favourite search engine, it should give you a link to a pdf download for AKD530 (14th Edition), which is one of the last versions of the full BMC/BL Workshop Manual covering all 'Car' models from the earliest MM up to the last 1098.
We are not allowed to give the actual link, but the above should work (if the site name looks a bit 'fishy', you have found it!).
