Luvax front dampers

Post by RobThomas »

Does anyone know when Luvax front dampers were used? I've seen a few photos of them in use but not seen any listed as an available part. The bodyshell has been produced with them in mind.[frame]Image[/frame]

Rob
Many thanks for the picture.
Now I know why there is a round hole in the inner wing panel.
Is the Luvax damper mounted via the additional set of damper mounting holes that became redundant when the Armstrong dampers were fitted?
The Luvax type of dampers were fitted to all sorts and makes of cars but usually on the chassis above and adjacent to the front beam axle and rear axle tube; and the piston chambers were positioned fore and aft.

I salvaged a similar pair off a '49 parts car (the one that went to heaven a few months ago), had them reco'd & fitted to my '48. I've picked up others at swap meets, normally labelled as MG TC dampers.
