Listing!

Post by grandpascot »

I have just finished replacing all the rubber bushes on the suspension with polyurethane. I now have a list to port of between .5 and .75 of an inch. (Drivers side is higher!) Is this within acceptable limits or do I need to adjust the suspension until it is exactly level?

Was every joint tightened when settled with the car weight on the suspension?

It was.

It did occur to me that it might be an idea to loosen all the suspension and leave it loose for a couple of days to settle further before finally tightening. All bushes were greased with white grease as well.

If the use of your car is predominantly with only the driver on board I would leave well alone as with only the driver on board the car will now appear to be level.
I would let everything settle down before doing anything; and you can always reset the suspension at a later date if you so wish.
My own Minor is slightly higher on the drivers side as it only carries the driver and when I am on board the car sits level.

Mines was sitting slightly high after the rebuild on the drivers side. Haven't noticed it since tho. Its either settled or not really a problem. Nobodys ever mentioned it.

They settle down after a while, mine was certainly cockeyed for a while after its rebuild but 6 years on it's just fine.
