Riley 1.5 brake drums

Post by Andy W »

Hi all,

I have fitted disc brakes to my Traveler so want to sell the Riley 1.5 drum set up I have taken off, to help the Traveller maintenance piggy bank balance!
I can find none for sale, currently or historically, so can anyone tell me what I should expect to get for them?
Andy.

Hi,

I bought a pair for £150 and sold them for the same about six months ago (went Wolseley instead). This was all between enthusiasts or members though so may have been a little cheap. They were in reasonable condition, not needing cylinders or shoes but not brand new.

Earlpart's listings may also give you an idea: http://www.earlpart.co.uk/catalogue%20wolseley.pdf

I'd have thought £150.00 was a good price nowadays but supply and demand will dictate in the end. Riley 1.5 brakes are a good upgrade but the service parts (cylinders and shoes) are hard to obtain and expensive so this conversion is less popular now than it once was.

Thanks folks, that's great info....that kind of money would be a nice few oil & filter changes for the old girl..!
