After owning the car for a while, I finally took the front wheels off to do some greasing and have a general look over.
Can anyone help by identifying the disc brake conversion in particular the calliper type and make?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Disc conversion identification help
Morris Marina disc brake conversion.
The caliper is a Lucas/Girling item.
The conversion is a popular way of fitting disk brakes to a Minor and first developed by Mr Grumpy.

I have the same set up fitted to my Minor except that the Marina wheel stud PCD of 3.75" has been altered to 4" PCD as per standard Minor and Marina stub axles have been fitted so as to alleviate the use of a inner bearing spacer as used on the early kits.
Parts are plentiful and cheap.

Re: Disc conversion identification help
You will have taper roller bearings fitted so unlike the Minor wheel bearings where there is no play you should have discernable play at the circumference of the wheel.

Yes I believe I read that somewhere recently, about backing the nut off slightly to give a bit of clearance, many thanks for confirming.
I’m going to check the bearings for grease as part of my plan.
Had the car since last October, and the guy who sold it to me said he would lube and check all levels, which he did.
Been concentrating on other things over the last few months, such as refurbishing gloveboxes, replacing door top seals, new electronic dizzy, new rad hoses and heater hoses including flushing etc, spin on oil filter conversion and lots of other tweaks including recently re-building front seats based and backs with new foam, webbing straps and horsehair etc (pretty expensive!).
So am finally getting into checking the lower mechanicals. Not really reverse priority, the car has been well sorted and runs and drives really well. So just going through everything in turn to get farmiliar as one might say.....
