I've just fitted a refurbished front damper to Doris and I asked the supplier what oil was used as the damper was "softer" than I expected. They fill with SAE 10W. Is this OK to use?

Re: Damper Oil
The workshop manual suggests 20/20W mineral oil if Armstrong super thin oil is not available.
A straight 30 grade oil all round is a good compromise.

Re: Damper Oil
Be careful not to overfill, which may cause leaks from the seals. The factory Workshop Manual has the details.
