Hi All
So, I've been scouring the gearbox exploded view diagram in the manual, but I can't find an answer to this....
What on earth is this little connection at the back of the gearbox, under the Speedo cable?
(if anyone is wondering what the nice green circle is, that's sticky tape on the inside floor, where the gearbox filler bung should be, I recently discovered mine was missing )
Series II gearbox question...?

Re: Series II gearbox question...?
Gearbox steady cable, yours has been cut off. It should be attached to the mounting cross member, it is to stop the fan from going into the radiator under heavy braking.http://www.morrisminorspares.com/gearbo ... le-p830861

Re: Series II gearbox question...?
Arh...
heard of that
Actually, it's not been cut, it's just not under any tension. I'd zoomed the image in a bit before uploading it. Here's the wider view. Perhaps it needs a little adjustment?
I've just read up on it, now I know it's in the engine section (AA.36)
It does say 'tensioned so as to prevent any forward movement.... Care must be taken not to impose too great a tension' So getting rid of that kink might be useful!
many thanks John

Yes, just adjust it so its straight without being overly taut and all will be well......
