Wheel Trim/Embelishers

Post by geoberni »

Hi All
So, a question about the grater wheel embellishers.
Basil came fitted with a set but I've noticed that they seem to move, i.e. rotate/slip around, and potentially could cut into the valve stems.

Anyone else have them and noticed a problem?

They are probably not designed for the Minor wheels. I had a set on one of my cars and they had cut-outs which fitted around the hubcap mounting lugs. These prevented them from moving. I chucked them years ago because I didn't think they added anything to the car but they were a popular period accessory.

Thanks
They do have the little cut outs, but they're not very accurately positioned.
I suspect it's another case of modern retro parts not being up to the standards of their predecessors.
The car was majorly restored about about 20 years ago; probably when it gained the trims. :-?
