Carb for 948

I have a 948cc moggy which I’m restoring , what is the correct carb (name and part code ,type , )?? also would a aud13 Hs2 carb do the same job for my 948cc engine ?? Pros and cons , and looking for recommendations on which way I should go , the engine has over sized pistons as the original ones ruined the bores

From the link above you can determine the correct carb for your vehicle/engine.
The H2 and HS2 are different carbs and require different fitment packages i.e. air cleaner etc.

The car had originally an 803cc but was fitted with a 948cc the carb in the picture was fitted to the engine , apparently it’s for that engine , but iv been offered a moggy 1000 cc one . Just wondering if a 1000 carb will work on a 948cc ??

The carb in the photos above is a SU, HS2 AUD13 which is the later carb fitted to the Minor
It is suitable for your Minor but I would recommend replacing the manifold for the later combined inlet/exhaust manifold - see my link above.
Have you been offered a H2 SU Carb?
The H2 carb can be identified by the fact that the float chamber is bolted to the underside of the carb body and does not have the flexible pipe to the bottom of the main jet as per the HS2 carb.
The H2 carb was fitted to the early Minor 1000 with the two piece manifold shown in your picture.
The air cleaner was the oil bath type.

Iv been offered a aud13 Hs2 carb reconditioned. I have 5 carbs and 2 different manifolds , the manifolds have different size holes going to the head , the one that was fitted to the car had large holes and my other manifold has smaller holes ? Both Manifolds are two piece . Here are the other carbs I have

The first four pictures are of H types carbs and the fifth picture is of a HS2 carb.
The manifold with the small holes is for the 803cc engine and is not suitable for the 948cc engine.
What is the sizes of the throats of the first four H type carbs measured at the manifold end of the carb ?
The 803cc H type carb had a 1 1/8" throat whilst the 948cc H type carb had a 1 1/4" throat.

Worth noting that the air cleaner housing shown in the picture in your first post is actually one from a 1098 car, and not the later 948 'saucepan' type fitted to later 948s with the HS2. You've a picture of one of those in one of the subsequent pics.

Ok , thank you , iv got them coming out of my ears!
The one fitted to my engine was measuring 1 1/4 .
Is a different manifold needed ? As the car was used with this set up for around 20 years!

The 1 1/4" had already been determined as a HS2 carb from your original picture posting. HS2 carbs are sized as 1 1/4" only.
The engine will run no problem but if you want best performance and efficiency you should use the correct carb, manifold and air induction system combination.
