Engine bust, what replacement

Once again thanks for the replies. We’ve poured petrol down the spark plug holes, not sure about boiling water in the hose areas. I was going to part ex, but as was said above, that may not be possible. Any recommendations for engines?

Diesel is what you need to pour down the plug holes not petrol. Diesel will both free and lubricate.
Leave to soak for a while and then use an impact tool on the crankshaft bolt. Do not go mad with the impact tool - lots of small sessions is the way to go so as to shake/rattle the pistons/rings loose in the bores.
If you are very careful - a piece of wood (the same dia as the piston) placed on top of the piston (requires head off) and given a hefty but judged smack may work as well. Do not hit in the centre of the piston as you may well break through the top of the piston.

Given everything we now know, it would definately be worth trying to free the engine up - even if only it can then be used on an exchange basis. Be patient, it make take a few days of dribbling diesel in through the spark plug holes and leaving it soak before it will free up. Trying to force it free too soon will likely break something. Eventually, it should start to move but may be an incremental process. Good luck!

I agree with the above - do not be in any rush - better to take it slow and get the engine free without incurring any damage.
