1275 marina engine Cam question

Post by moggiegeek »

I've just sourced 1275 marina engine and have,I think, all the conversion bits to mate it with a 1275 mg gearbox and 3.9 diff.
Im thinking of running it with 12G940 head, maniflow inlet and exhaust, and HIF 38 carb... This ran well on my 1098.
Spax and anti roll bar, riley 1.5 brakes and servo
My question is:
Does this combo work well for a road car and.... I impulse bought a Kent 600 cam.... Will they work together????
If not suggestions welcome for improvement

The Marina engine already has a 940 head.
The Maniflow manifolds are good but get the right size.
The HIF38 will compliment the manifolds & camshaft.
The camshaft will work - see link for details.

Make sure that to get the maximum from the camshaft it is correctly timed.

New cam followers should be fitted. Using old cam followers will quickly ruin the camshaft.

I would also change the oil pump whilst the engine is partly stripped. Make sure that the new camshaft and oil pump drive are compatible.
