Oil filter for 1275 Ital/Marina

Post by squire »

What oil filter are people using on 1275 Ital/ Marina engines, make and filter part number?
I have a problem that I can't get the spin off filter to seal! I've done many oil/filter changes over the years and only had this problem once, many years ago, another filter cured the problem. I've tried another filter, made sure the sealing ring was lightly oiled, all surfaces were clean and filter spun on and tightened hand tight. Can't believe I've got two bad filters from different makers and don't think I'm doing anything wrong after all these years, so asking for any ideas etc.
Thanks

The threaded insert that the filter screws onto and which screws into the block must be only screwed into the block by half its length.
Best to Loctite it into the block so that it does not move.

Use this link to determine what filter you want to use - covers everything.

The thread that secures the oil filter is 3/4" UNF.
