My Traveller's stinky cab was easily remedied with a bit of duct tape, once I realised that the bonnet release rod had worn holes through the heater air intake hose.
I want to fix it properly, but none of the normal places seem to have elephant trunks in stock at the moment, and they seem quite expensive compared to similar parts for other cars. Can anyone tell me the correct diameter of the elephant trunk, and whether there's anything else that I could use in a push? It looks like fairly generic plastic tubing to my inexpert eyes!

Re: Elephant Trunk
Otherwise, try some Mini suppliers. The same hose was used on Minis of the same period. The later plastic one will be less expensive than the earlier rubber and wire version

Re: Elephant Trunk
Thanks all,
Thanks for the offer Win; I'm down in London so probably a bit too far away. Glad to see they're back in stock at Charles Ware though, I've got a few other bits to get from them so I'll see if they can combine the postage.
Best wishes
Seb
