Thermostat sandwich plate

Post by philthehill »

Those cylinder heads that require a thermostat housing sandwich plate to enable a thermostat to be fitted have 5/16" UNC threads holding the stud to the head.

The usual thread for the thermostat studs is 5/16" UNF top and bottom.

A 3" long stud is required when the sandwich plate is used. The long stud (Pt No: 51K885) which holds the rocker cover down is ideal as it has 5/16" UNC at its bottom and 5/16" UNF at its top so there is no need for using special studs or bolts.
