Steering Wheel
Will a banjo style wheel fit a later 67 model ?
Re: Steering Wheel
Yes, no problem, it's a straight fit, I have one on my 1970 traveller, I think they look better.

Not sure how to refurbish

Re: Steering Wheel
Yep Seen that Declan
I can’t run to that at the moment
I wouldn’t mind getting a knackered one and trying to refurb my self if it’s structurally sound
I will keep my eyes open

Re: Steering Wheel
They are easy and fun to refurbish, provided the structure is ok

Re: Steering Wheel
Hi,
I repaired mine (and if I can do it anyone can! )
Mine is a Series 2 wheel 'marbled effect' wheel, the later black banjo's should be even easier, as you can cover your repairs with several coats of Halfords satin black and then (once it has hardened, probably over the period of a week) polish it up with Autosol polish. See links below:

Before painting you will also need to give the steering wheel a wipe with thinners to make sure it is completely grease free.
You may also like to use a grey plastic primer spray paint.
At some point I think I need to get hold of a late banjo to refurbish myself, so I can experiment........
Best wishes,
Mike.
