Lockheed/Delphi not the quality that they used to be, but they do at least fit; pattern normally need fettling and/or a big hammer.

Is it not possible to overhaul the wheel cylinder you already have?

No - it does not answer your question directly but it answers the question relative to Simmitc's answer in that the quality of Lockheed/Delph is not as it was and that pattern parts are not always the right size.
I would suggest that you can retain good quality and save a bit of money by refurbishing what you have - but of course it is your money and you have the right to spend it as you like.

Surely Simmitc has answered the question and Phil has simply offered you a third alternative?

Cylinder is not repairable. Badly pitted.
That’s why I asked the question.

Speaking for myself, I would generally purchase the best quality items available. In this instance however I, like simmitc above, have felt that the more expensive option is perhaps not worth the extra money. On each of my Minors I have prefered to fit the "Lockheed" cylinders to the front but have bought the cheap "pattern" ones for the rear. I have had no problem with them.

That earlier response to a possible solution was an eye opener! :o
