Rocker Cover

Post by alawrence10360 »

As I have some time on my hands I have stripped an old rocker cover of its paint and repainted ready to replace the alloy one I have
What labels / Stickers go on it ?
It’s a 67 model
Some pics would be good

Here's a photo of the rocker cover on my 1275 engine showing the position of the labels prior to riveting.

Declan''s photos always show fantastic attention to detail. For the benefit of the OP, though, the 1098 engine fitted to his 67 model would have the rocker cover plates glued, not riveted.

Just had a look in the garage and found out that the rivets are still sitting on the bench and the plates are glued so I will leave it that way-thanks for pointing that out.

If you use pop rivets to secure the label, make sure you put some silicone sealant on the inside of the of the rocker cover top prevent oil weeping up through to pop rivet. How do I know that???

Richard,
That is probably exactly the reason why I glued them and didn't bother riveting them.
