STEERING RACK
HIGH, COULD ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO OIL THE STEERING RACK WHEN IT IS FITTED WITH A GREASE NIPPLE.CHEERS PHIL.

HIGH LES , I DO HAVE A SPARE ONE BUT WILL NEED CLEANING OUT ,I WAS THINKING OF THAT BUT THOUGHT IT WAS TO EASY.CHEERS

I went through this recently
In the end I packed both signed with grease prior to fitting
I think grease is better for this application however it it is difficult to ensure you get grease to the drivers side via the nipple which is on the passenger side and so oil is recommended
If I had my time again I would fit a second nipple on the drivers side as per Philthehill instructions at the tail end of this post

The grease they sell for the front swivel housings on Landrovers is ideal for this type of application, it gets everywhere.
