Rear hub bearing carrier

Post by moggiegeek »

Could anyone tell me the relevant tap for the threaded bolt holes in the rear axle bearing carrier for the screws that secure the halfshaft flange and the brake drums?
Thank you

1/4" x 28TPI UNF is the tap you require.

I would recommend the use of a 2nd cut tap if you only need to clean up the threads.

If you do not have the relevant tap it can be obtained from Tracy Tools.

Many of the taps and dies I own have been sourced from Tracy Tools and can recommend them.

This is a fastener that I had not included on my 'Thread Sizes' list, and have just done so, BUT I cannot update the same list at the beginning of the 'Mechanical Section' on the Board Index.

Moderators - how can we update earlier posts with later information please?

There is one about Alternative Wheels that is well out of date, too.
