Carb Heat shield kits.

Post by Flywheel »

Hi everyone.

May i please ask for some advice re: Carb heat shield kits?

Both Charles Ware and ESM Morris Minors, feature these kits on their web-sites.

Can anyone give an opinion, on which of the two kits is the better one. My Traveller has the standard 1098cc engine, and ordinary standard Carburettor.

Thank you. Jonnie

The above Grumpy's kit is well proven and protects the incoming fuel pipe from exhaust heat and the small shield protects the float chamber from heat.

The above appears to only protect the carb and float chamber and not the fuel pipe.

If I had a choice I would use both - the Grumpy's fuel pipe shield and the Charles Ware carb shield.

Overall the Grumpy's kit is well proven and if asked to choose between the two it would be the Grumpy's kit.

Does anyone have a photo of the Grumpy's kit installed?

Are Mr Grumpy stuff still available? I like the idea of his reversing light switch.

Only a few of his modifications are currently available mostly now from ESM.

Mr Grumpy was originally at Oxford dealing in Morris Minor spares and modification/upgrades but he moved up north to Lancashire but what he is currently doing now I do not know.
