I taken off my gearbox to clean and paint it.
There is a slight oil leak at the rear of the gearbox and wondered if the end bit could be replaced, I think it's called tail shaft seal but not sure.

Re: Gearbox tail shaft seal
That end part comes off the aluminium casting, but beware it will have been "crimped" in three places at the back edge to secure it.
I have just removed mine to replace it with a new one, I carefully used a hacksaw to cut away the crimped parts, then you can tap it off fairly easily with a small chisel going around each side a bit at a time.
If you try and remove the housing with it still crimped, you will damage the end of the casting.

Hello phil
That's good thankyou.
I've searched Esm, Charles Wares and Moss for a like for like but as I have not been able to find one is why I've asked the question.
Can you remember where you got yours from?

I did see that then compared it to the one on the gearbox and it looked different.
I'll order that one now I know it'll be ok.
I'm very rusty at the moment , it's been 30 years since I've messed around with cars.
Picking things up quickly, thanks to people like you.
On another note, i am a fairly new member of the MMOC and found out this evening that non members can view the web site and topics. A little disappointed with that.
I'll remember to be more cautious as I'm open to the world not just members.
