Timing gears with Morse HV chain.

Post by philthehill »

I am also posting this in the mechanical section as this is an interesting item.
Note the Morse HV chain and the respective cogs on the gears.
Normally the timing chains are Renolds type simplex or duplex. The Morse HV chain can transmit more power at higher revs and is near silent.

Here is a link to Morse HV chains.

Very interesting. Noted for when I next change the chain on an engine, I upgraded my current one to duplex but I'll get a price on the parts required in due course.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks for notifying Phil. Can or should you use the tensioner with these?

John
You can still use the tensioner with the Morse HV chain set up.

I do not know of a UK supplier of the Morse HV chain set up. I suspect that it is an American import.

That is the company who produce the chain but I do not know of a source for the gears.
