Crank bushes.

At present fitting a 1275 to a Minor with Minor G/box, and discovered (because I have both input shafts to hand) that the Phosphor bronze bush from the Minor is smaller in outside diameter than the Marina needle roller. This means that changing the N/R to a P/B would result in mismatch with the Minor input shaft in the Marina crank? Am I missing something? Both input shafts from Marina/Minor boxes are similar size at the "nose".

Fit the spigot bearing thats appropriate to the crank

If I remember correctly the Minor first motion shaft will fit into the Marina needle bearing without problem.
What is the O.D. of the needle roller bearing case?

The phosphor bronze bush is Pt No: 13H4653......................1098cc engine, 1300cc engine and 1800cc engine.

The 1800 engine part list identifies the 13H4653 bush as the inner bush. The 1098cc and 1300 engine parts catalogue just lists the 13H4653 bush (singular) with no reference to an inner bush.

The centre housing is not for the spigot bush but is there to centralise the flywheel onto the crankshaft.

Thanks for reply. The Minor shaft nose fits the Marina Needle roller bearing perfectly. Previous advice has been to swap bushes/ bearings to gearbox type That is why I asked, as confused.
Not sure that there are many who would fit Marina Gearbox to a Minor?

Well, it is stronger, and has synchromesh on 1st. Snag is, it's alot bulkier and heavier, and needs quite a bit of bodywork modification to make it fit.

One reason I never got around to fitting a Ford Type 9 5-speed gearbox to mine, despite getting the kit, which I sold on after realising the amount of work involved fitting it!

Just be thankful that you can get a kit.
When I fitted the Ford 2000E (4 speed) gearbox to my minor other than the special bellhousing everything had to be fabricated and the methodology thought through.
