anti roll bar

Post by Classiccars »

hi a while ago i was advised to get details of the bushes on the anti roll bar to try and get new parts.I have finally got the bar off after fitting some other bushes elsewhere. The metal barrel the bushes sit in is about 1 and 3/4 inch long. The bushes are about an inch long The metal barrel is about 4 1/2 inches around the outside and inner circumference is about 3 inches. The bushes have a shoulder and touch inside the barrel as they are 2 inches in total.Hope to renew these.

The anti roll bar is a Minor Mania item.
You could try Minor eye bolt bushes.
The Minor eye bolt bush is 7/8" O.D. has an I.D. of 1/2" and is 11/16" long excluding the head.
I would use poly bushes. The bush does not have to fill the whole length of the bush tube.

What is the outside diameter of the anti-roll bar?
There are various diameter bushes for sale on 'e' bay.

That sounds like the circumference rather than the diameter ! Divide that by 3.142.

Here are some anti-roll bar mount bushes - I would suggest that the bar is 3/4" outside diameter (cross section) and Ford derived.
With the listing below you need to specify the size you require.

I've got the same anti roll bar on my traveller.
The bushes are the same size as the van bushes.
I fitted poly ones to mine.

Cheers

Just to clarify -
Is your anti-roll bar a Minor Mania item?
Which van bush is the same size?
(the rear spring front eye possibly? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174080061527 ... SwCDxduChY)

Which poly bushes did you use?

That's a polybush you have fitted, the purple one means it is probably made by 'Powerflex' and from their universal types.

It isn't worn, so unless you like burning money, there is no reason to change it.

You may be right about the anti-roll bar mounts
https://powerflexstore.co.uk/mg/zr-2001 ... 63-404-19/

The bushes in the tubes at the end of the anti-roll bar though are worn and they do need to be replaced preferably with poly bushes.
